Expressions of interest are invited from motivated and enthusiastic people for the position of Work Experience Team Leader based at Milang Old School House Community Centre.

The Work Experience Team Leader will be responsible for managing a team of up to 10 work experience participants who are registered in a Job Skills Australia program.

The successful applicant will utilise community development principles and sound natural resource management practices to enable local people to gain experience in natural resource management and community projects around Lake Alexandrina.

The objective of the position is to;

• Engage team members in learning new skills and providing on-going coaching of team members, implementing a mix of practical and conceptual on-site training.
• Provide on-site supervision of Participants, particularly in line with the relevant industry standards of the activity that the Participants are undertaking.
• Ensure the general welfare and safety of participants, including strict adherence to OH&S policies and procedures.
• Making logistical arrangements for the efficient completion of project activities, which may include project scheduling, tool selection and site maps, details of job specification.
• Ensuring the care, maintenance and safe operation of vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment.
• At all times to demonstrate professionalism and integrity in accordance with the ‘Employment Services Standard – Employment Services Deed 2009-2012’

The successful applicant must be committed to community development principles and have previous experience in natural resource or community project management in a community setting.
